Authentication and connections

Learn the three connection models and how to work with each.

API key integrations

  1. Go to AdministrationIntegrationsBrowse and open an integration marked "API-Key Based".
  2. Click Add Connection and provide the API key or credentials.
  3. Configure settings as needed.

Manage integrations from the Integrations page; check status indicators (Connected, Pending, Issue).

SSO-based integrations

  1. Find the app on Integrations and click Connect.
  2. Complete any pre-connect form.
  3. Follow the SSO flow to create or link an account and authorize data sharing.
  4. Manage settings from the Manage tab and connection settings.

Vendor-managed integrations

Some integrations are configured and maintained by the vendor. Follow the vendor's setup guide and monitor status in Business App.

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid API keys or missing permissions are common causes of failures.
  • Re-run the SSO flow to reauthorize if access expires.
  • Contact the vendor if setup is vendor-managed.

FAQ

Which model should I use?

Use the model required by the specific integration. API key is credential-based, SSO delegates auth, vendor-managed is handled by the provider.

Does SSO support partner impersonation?

No. You authenticate directly to the third-party during SSO.

Any security best practices?

Limit access to least privilege, rotate API keys, and reauthorize connections when prompted.
