Send a marketing email template to a contact

Send a marketing email template to a contact sends a one-off marketing email to the contact in scope. This action is available on contact-scoped triggers.

This step sends a single email that is not associated with any campaign. To enroll a contact in a multi-email campaign sequence instead, use Start a campaign for the contact.

How it works​

  1. The automation reaches the step with a contact in scope
  2. The step sends the selected email template to the contact
  3. The automation continues to the next step

Set up the action​

  1. Open the automation builder and add a new step
  2. Under Campaigns and emails, select Send a marketing email template to a contact
  3. Select the email template to send

View performance​

Performance stats for emails sent with this step appear only within the automation itself. To view them, open the automation and click into this step to see opens, clicks, and other email metrics.

Because this step sends a one-off email not associated with any campaign, its stats do not appear in Campaigns. To send emails whose performance appears in Campaigns alongside your other campaign metrics, use Start a campaign for the contact instead.
