Management Fees
Management Fees are an industry standard that allows digital advertising vendors to continuously optimize campaigns to promote optimal reach and results.
As a result of many months of development efforts, we are happy to say that the Management Fee will be laid out clearly in the platform for billing purposes so that you know exactly how much a campaign will cost you from the get-go.
For example, our Marketing Services’ Digital Ads: Campaign product used to have two components to its billing structure:
- The Campaign Cost: This cost would account for both the dollar value that is allocated to the campaign on a third-party platform, like Google or Facebook, as well as the management fee necessary to optimize the campaign.
- The Setup Fee: In order to launch a successful campaign, our teams of specialists will work with you to establish the right audience, captions, and imagery.
This made it difficult for our partners to clearly establish what dollar amount was actually being spent on the campaign platform, and how much was being used to account for the management of the campaign.
Thankfully, this same Marketing Services Digital Ads: Campaign product is being laid out with three components now for a clearer picture of actual campaign costs (see below).
- The Spend: This dollar amount is specifically allocated to be spent on a third-party platform, like Google or Facebook, to help reach larger audiences.
- The Setup Fee: In order to launch a successful campaign, our teams of specialists will work with you to establish the right audience, captions, and imagery.
- The Management Fee: This fee is associated with the ongoing management of your campaign to ensure that your advertising budget is being spent effectively.
Your Receipt
Once you’ve purchased a digital advertising product, you’ll receive a receipt via email that will feature the overall Digital Ads: Campaign purchase as seen below. When you click on the ‘View Purchase’ button, it will take you to a more detailed description of your purchase, including the setup and management fees.
Billing in Partner Center
This change is prompting us to make a few updates to different areas of the Billing area in Partner Center.
The “By purchase” Tab
When you click the ‘View Purchase’ link in your email receipt, you’ll be redirected to the ‘By Purchase’ tab of the Billing & Payments page in Partner Center. This page will also be filtered down to the specific purchase ID that your email receipt indicates.
If the given purchase has a product that prompts a management fee or setup fee charge, you can expand the purchase to show that fee in a new column on the page.
The CSV Download of Purchases on the “By purchase” Tab
We’re making it easier for you to view your purchases in the format that works best for you. The ”By purchase” tab of the Billing & Payments page in Partner Center now has a link that allows the export of purchases to a CSV file.
Both the Setup Fee and Management Fee columns will now always be shown on the CSV, so that it has a consistent format for importing into other systems.
The CSV billing report (available at https://partners.vendasta.com/billing/reports) will have Setup Fees and Management Fees laid out separately for products, starting with October 2022 data.
However, billing details prior to October 2022 will continue to be visible as below.
The “By account” tab
Similarly to the “By purchase” tab, if a given account has a purchase of a product that includes a management fee, expanding the account will show that fee in a new column on the page.
Financial Documents in Partner Center
When searching through your financial documents in the Billing area of your Partner Center, you will see links to Sales Invoice PDFs that are generated from our financial system of record. These PDFs will break out Management and Setup Fees for purchases beginning on October 3, 2022.
If you have any questions, concerns, or would like to discuss this change further, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Vendasta representative or to our helpful Support team at support@vendasta.com! We’d be happy to help.
