Social Marketing has expanded its functionality to include historical data retrieval for Google Business Profile (GBP) and LinkedIn, giving users a more comprehensive view of their social media presence. This allows the platform to display posts published before an account was connected to Social Marketing, along with the corresponding performance metrics such as reach and engagement.
By accessing this historical information, users can more accurately measure and analyze their social media return on investment (ROI), providing concrete data to demonstrate the effectiveness of their strategies to clients. Furthermore, this historical perspective enables users to identify trends and patterns, leading to more informed and refined social media strategy development.
How do Google Business Profile and LinkedIn Historical Data in Social Marketing work?
To see the historical data for accounts already linked to Social Marketing, a disconnection and reconnection process is required to refresh the data. Newly connected accounts will automatically pull in the available historical records.
Posts created and published outside of Social Marketing after an account is connected will not be visible within the platform.
