GBP efficiency

Hello everyone we are currently in the process of setting up our GBP and we are almost 2 months in with no firm answers or understanding of what is happening. Has anyone else experienced this and what tips would you recommend to avoid this in the future?

    The process will change depending if you are claiming an existing listing, or creating a new listings. 

    For creating claiming an existing listing; 

    • Find your business; Visit Google My Business and sign in with your business account. You'll need to enter your business name and address and select the business from search. 
    • Request Access; You'll need to select Request Access and complete the associated form
    • Wait for Response; The current owner of the listing will receive an email regarding the request, and as per Google has 3-7 days to respond. If they approve, you'll get an email with access. 

    For a setting up a new listing; 

    • Accurately enter your business address and information, or utilize the pin marker on Google Maps
    • Verification Process; Verify through phone, email, text or video. 
    • Approval; After verification it can take a few weeks for the updated business info to show across Google

    Verification is typically where delays arise, as you may need to verify with more than one method, as well as methods depend on business category, public info, region, support hours and volumes. Once Verification is complete, Google will review the verification and this can take up to 7 business days.
