Oct 24, 2022: Invalid authentication state error when trying to access the WordPress Admin from Website Pro

The Problem

We have received several complaints about users unable to access the WordPress admin dashboard through Website Pro. Users will often see an error saying "The page isn't redirecting properly" or "Invalid authentication state. Please try again."

The Root Cause

The cause of the problem has been identified as a conflict between a plugin called "Events Calendar" and the Single Sign On functionality offered by Website Pro. This conflict was introduced in the latest version of the "Events Calendar" plugin. We have reached out to the developers of the "Events Calendar" plugin to inform them of the bug in the plugin.

The Work Around

The quickest way to get around the error is for users to disable the "Events Calendar" plugin. If users are not able to access the WordPress admin dashboard to disable the plugin, please contact support for assistance.

However, for users that rely on the plugin, previous versions of the "Events Calendar" plugin can still be used along with the Single Sign On functionality leveraged by Website Pro. Below are instructions for how to install a previous version of the plugin.
