At Vendasta, we are continuously improving the usability and performance of our platform. Along the same lines, as we move ahead in improving how we report statistics from our email campaigns, users in Partner Center may see changes in their campaign statistics under Customer Acquisition.
When emails are sent from our platform, we keep track of what CTAs and URLs are clicked by measuring traffic to URLs embedded in the email. The recipients of these emails may employ filtering software that helps to organize their inbox by reading the content of those emails. These helpful "bots" help users keep on top of their email and may help filter spam and other malicious messages.
However, these bots can cause inflated click-through rates for email campaigns. If an email bot "clicks" the CTA link of an email to make sure that the destination is not harmful or misleading, it gets counted as a click-through. This can cause a disconnect between the click-through rate, and the actual number of clicks.
As a result, you might see a decrease in the click-through rate of email campaigns. We are filtering these "clicks" to distinguish between real users and bots so that you can get a real sense of how many people are engaging with your email campaigns.
