What is this?
Facebook has recently made changes to its API, affecting how Social Marketing connects Instagram accounts. As a result, our Marketing Services team and a small subset of our partners are experiencing intermittent issues with publishing posts to Instagram. We’re actively working with Facebook on a solution to this problem.
Why is this happening?
Just like any other social media platform, Facebook and Instagram are constantly updating their systems. Some of these changes are more noticeable to the public such as the release of a new feature. Other changes are more focused on the back-end code and can affect how Facebook and Instagram handle connections from third-party products like Social Marketing.
Although not common, these updates eventually cause stability issues, which is what is happening now with Instagram. Our development team is investigating the problem and working together with Facebook to identify a solution.
Is there any further action required?
If you have our Marketing Services team managing your clients’ social media accounts, no further action is required at this time. We’ll keep creating engaging content, scheduling posts, and publishing them to Instagram through other methods.
In case we experience any issues with scheduling posts, we’ll get in touch with you to send the posts alongside the images and links, so you can publish them on your own. We don’t expect it to happen, but we apologize for the inconvenience.
