What is it?
Partners can create and customize their own categories in the Marketplace. Partners can then assign their own Packages to these categories and publish it to their Public Store.
When will it be available?
The approximate release of this update will be on May 22, 2019.
Why is it important?
Custom categories enable Partners to customize their store and sell their products the way they want to sell. This feature can also be used to feature or highlight specific products depending on their business strategy.
How does it work?
All products in the Marketplace are tagged with preset categories. To create your own categories, go to Partner Center > Marketplace > Manage Store > Store Settings > Categories and click the toggle button beside Use Custom Categories to enable this feature.
The default categories will appear, but you can edit the names, create new categories, and change their order. You can also add Packages (with one or more products) to each individual category. Finally, you can click on the Show in store check box to publish the category to your Store.
Who gets it?
This feature will be available for all Partners.
