What is it?
Partners can create and customize their own categories in the Marketplace. Partners can then assign their own Packages to these categories and publish it to their Public Store.
Why is it important?
Custom categories enable Partners to customize their store and sell their products the way they want to sell. This feature can also be used to feature or highlight specific products depending on their business strategy.
How does it work?
All products in the Marketplace are tagged with preset categories. To create your own categories, go to Partner Center > Marketplace > Manage Store > Store Settings > Categories and toggle "Show customized categories in store".
Users can edit the names of existing categories, create new categories, and reorder categories by dragging them. You can also add Packages (with one or more products) to each individual category by dragging them from the "All" category into your desired category. To remove a Package from a category, mouse over the Package and click the "X". To remove a category, click the "X" to the right of the category.
When a category is ready to be displayed, click the toggle beside the category name to show or hide the category in your Public Store.
A preview below the editor will display how your Public Store will appear with your new Custom Categories.
Who gets it?
This feature will be available for all Basic, Pro, and Enterprise Partners.
