Beginning April 3rd, Business Center will have a new landing page, ‘Dashboard’.
The dashboard is an improved landing experience for any user who logs into Business Center, on both PC and mobile. It contains summary cards for key features of Business Center that the user has access to, including Recent Activity, My Products, and Business Profile along with a call-to-action to connect Google My Business and Facebook. In the future, more summary cards will appear here.
The dashboard has four primary features:
We’ve identified that SMBs who connect their Google My Business account to Business Center, and receive regular Executive Report for at least half of their lifetime saw a 47% increased retention rate after 1 year compared to those who received a report without Google My Business insights.
That’s why our welcome banner encourages all users to connect their Google My Business and Facebook accounts as a first step, to see immediate data in their Executive Report.
Recent Activity Card
This card displayed the most recent notifications items to appear on the Activity Stream, and allows the user to go to Activity Stream tab to investigate further.
This card displays the top four products the user has access to in the My Products tab. Upon first login, four random products will appear here, but it can be customized.
Users can choose which products appear here, by ‘pinning’ their favorite products either on My Products page, or from within the Business Center navigation > Products dropdown. Products available for pinning will display a grey pin icon beside them (on desktop pins are hidden and appear only when hovering) and when pinned, they immediately move to the top of the Products Card, Navigation and My Products page, in the order they were pinned.
The first four pinned items will display on the dashboard.
To change the order, unpin all the products and re-pin them in the desired order.
Business Profile Card
A business’s name and address is displayed in this card, along with a map pin location via Google Maps.
This is important information for a Business User to see, especially if they have products or services that are syncing this data out across the web, for example using Listing Sync Pro.
Clicking on this card will bring a user to the Business Profile, where they can update and correct their complete profile.
Managing User Access to Content
The dashboard obeys access settings you’ve already setup in Partner Center > Administration > Customize. Cards will only appear if the user also has access to the corresponding tabs and products.
