Last December, Google announced that it’s shutting down its Google+ API on March 7, 2019, which means that our software will no longer be able to post to Google+ as of this date. Because of Google’s decision, we are removing Google+ from our social posting services. The API shutdown won’t affect Google My Business.
How does it affect my clients?
Only partners with access to Marketing Services and who have social posts written by our team of marketing strategists will be affected by this change.
This service consists of a predetermined amount of posts drafted by our team of experienced marketing strategists who developed a strategy to help your clients increase their brand awareness, build relationships, and drive sales.
In order to maximize your client's digital presence, these posts are crafted in a unique way that allows us to post them on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ simultaneously.
Despite the shutdown of Google+, these posts will continue to go live on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We’ll also continue to work with you and your clients to refine our content strategy on a regular basis.
Can I replace Google+ with another social network?
Other social networks our Marketing Services team can post to include Google My Business, Instagram, Pinterest, and Houzz. While you can purchase additional, separate services to post to these channels if you want to complement your social media strategy, they are not exact replacements for Google+ within our main social posting offerings. They require an entirely different content strategy, which means that our marketing strategists have to write separate posts with unique content that is better suited for these networks.
What do you recommend for my clients?
The main benefit of posting on Google+ was to improve a client’s SEO ranking.
However, there are other strategies that can help your clients improve their search ranking, get more visibility, and attract more people to their websites.
One of them is to ensure that your online listings are updated with accurate information—and our team of Marketing Services can help you with that.
We’re also rolling out a new service: Google My Business Posts. It’s a fantastic, low cost way to enhance your clients’ online listings with promotional content, and you can incorporate call-to-action buttons and coupons into posts. We’re offering 15% off on the first three months of Google my Business Posts for all the partners affected by the Google+ shutdown (regularly $80/month USD).
Contact your email@example.com if you’re interested in any of these offers.
