March 5th, 2019
LinkedIn has extended its support for its APIs to May 1st, 2019. Users will need to reconnect their LinkedIn accounts before this date. All other information below remains in effect.
Due to changes with LinkedIn's APIs, users will be required to reconnect their LinkedIn profiles within Social Marketing and/or Reputation Management.
Please be aware that if you have reconnected your LinkedIn profiles since February 22nd, you will not need to re-authenticate again.
How do I reconnect my account?
From Social Marketing
- From Social Marketing > Settings > Connected Accounts, click > Reconnect next to the LinkedIn account.
- Select the associated page, then click OK.
From Reputation Management
- From Reputation Management > Settings > Connect Accounts, disconnect your LinkedIn profile.
- Reconnect your account by clicking +, selecting your account, then choosing the associated page.
What happens on February 27th?
Any LinkedIn connections that were created prior to February 22nd, 2019 will break. At that point, users will need to reconnect their LinkedIn profiles. Any accounts that have not reconnected LinkedIn will be unable to post to the social network. Any social posts for LinkedIn will also fail.
Should users log in to Social Marketing during this time, they will see a banner prompting them to reconnect. Once they do so, they will be able to post to LinkedIn as they had previously.
