What is it?
Beginning October 17, users of Customer Voice will be able to fully customize the content of email review requests and save multiple templates. You will be able to edit a default template or create a new one with an HTML Template Editor and save all templates for future use. You will also have the ability to easily switch between templates when communicating with your customers.
Why is it important?
Review requests are used to gather first-party reviews on your My Listings page or third-party reviews on external sites like Google or Facebook. When sending review requests, you will be able to personalize the content to be relevant to your business and the type of customer receiving the message. Using the Template Editor will allow users to choose from provided templates that can be customized with your own content, create new templates from scratch, preview a message, or quickly switch between templates to save time when communicating with customers.
You will have the option to add:
- dynamic components like buttons with a call to action, such as leave a review or contact us,
- dynamic components like buttons that will direct your customer to your preferred sites, such as your My Listings, Facebook, or Google landing pages,
- dynamic variables to be populated from a customer list, such as Customer Name or Business Name,
- header images saved in your Photo Library, and
- additional features such as image upload, insert links, and custom font and color options, from the editor toolbar
While sending customized emails, a drop-down menu will allow the user to quickly and easily switch between templates.
Users will have greater control over the content that they send to their customers. Businesses with customers in different contexts and languages will be able to easily customize their message content, to the point where communication sent from Customer Voice is no longer restricted to a review request.
How does it work?
In Customer Voice > Settings > Email Templates, click on New Template.
Choose a default template to edit with your custom content, or create a new custom template from a blank option.
To insert dynamic components, variables, or images, use the Insert Dynamic Component menu in the right corner of the template. Changes can be canceled or previewed, and the template can be saved or deleted.
Previously-saved templates can also be edited. You can save up to twenty custom templates. These templates can currently be sent only via email. In the future, the option to send SMS requests will be available as well.
Before sending a review request to your customers, you will have the option to preview your message and confirm or change the template being used from a drop-down menu at the top of the page.
