Oct. 12, 2016: Get more reviews on the top review sites

Customer reviews have a significant impact on a business’s reputation, which can ultimately affect their revenue. People are more likely to buy from a particular business if that business has a higher review score than their competition. And, the consumer-generated content from reviews improves the chances that consumers will find that business in local searches.

Vendasta is excited to introduce a new method for your clients to generate more reviews on the review sites that consumers rely on to make their buying decisions. With this new method, your clients can:

  • Get more reviews on the top review sites.
  • Keep bad reviews out of the spotlight.
  • And ultimately boost their online review ratings.

Whether your clients have negative reviews or they just don’t have enough (recent) reviews, this new Review Generation method will be sure to improve their online reputation.

The new review request email asks the customer if they’d recommend the business to a friend.

If the customer indicates that they would recommend the business to a friend, the email will direct that happy customer to a simple landing page that asks them to select a site and leave a review.

If the customer indicates that they wouldn’t recommend the business to a friend, the email will direct that unhappy customer to a feedback form on My Listing.

How it works.

1. Enable the new request email (possible action required)

We will enable the new review request method for all accounts you create after the launch date (you may change this setting via Partner Center > Customize > General Product Settings).

All accounts you create prior to the launch date will remain on the existing Review Generation method. If you’d like to switch all of your existing accounts to the new method, please contact support@vendasta.com.

If you or your clients would like to switch the Review Generation method for a particular account, simply go to Reputation Management > Reviews > Settings and then select My Preferred Sites within the Review Request section.

2. Customize the experience (optional)

We’ve provided some great defaults for the new Review Generation method, but you can certainly customize the customer experience if you wish. To do so, head to Reputation Management > Reviews > Settings.

a) Preferred Sites

Select up to three sites you’d like to generate more positive reviews on. Google and Facebook are the default sites. However, you can select any review site that we monitor in our product suite (as long as we’ve found a listing for that business).

b) New Request Email

The new review request email asks the customer if they’d recommend the business to a friend. We’ve provided content that will work well with the majority of small businesses. However, you have the flexibility to customize the content, question and buttons within this email if you’d like. From Reputation Management > Reviews > Settings, click Edit Email.

Then, upload your own custom HTML template or simply edit the content of the default template.

From the Edit Content option, you can customize all sorts of email elements, including the subject line, title and message.

c) Negative Feedback Form

If a customer indicates that they wouldn’t recommend your business to a friend, the review request email will direct them to a modified feedback form on My Listing. We’ve provided the messaging that customers will see prior to leaving negative feedback. However, you have the flexibility to customize this messaging if you choose.

3. Send the new request email

Go to Reputation Management > Reviews > Generate Reviews. You can request a review from one customer or many customers at once.

The new review request email will ask the customer if they’d recommend the business to a friend.

4. The customer leaves a review

If the customer indicates that they would recommend the business to a friend, the email will direct that happy customer to a simple landing page that asks them to select a site and leave a review.

If the customer indicates that they wouldn’t recommend the business to a friend, the email will direct that unhappy customer to a modified feedback form on My Listing. By default, negative reviews are kept private, unless your clients have changed their publishing settings.

If you have any questions or concerns about the new Review Generation method, don't hesitate to contact your Partner Success Manager!
