Jul. 19, 2017: View listing benchmarks by geographic region

The Listing Score shows your clients how they’re performing online in comparison to the rest of their industry. Your clients can now view their listing grades and industry averages by geographic region. This new functionality gives your clients visibility into their performance compared to the rest of the world, country, state/province, or city.

Example #1

A coffee shop in Odessa, Texas is competing locally. They need more accurate listings than all the other coffee shops in Odessa. They view the industry average for their city, and then focus on surpassing that average. The end result is a greater online presence than all the other coffee shops in their city.

Example #2

A neurosurgeon in Tampa Bay, Florida competes across the entire state. They need more accurate listings than all the other neurosurgeons in Florida. They view the industry average for their state, and then focus on surpassing that average. The end result is a greater online presence than all the other surgeons in their state.

The new region selector

The region selector is now available in the LMI Dashboard in Business Center as well as the Listings tab in Reputation Management. Note: Country is the only option for the Executive Report and Snapshot Report.

Default settings

As part of this update, the default geographic region has changed from World to Country.

To customize the regions your clients see in the LMI Dashboard and Listings tab:

  1. Go to Partner Center > Administration > Customize > General Product Settings.
  2. Under the Other section, find the new setting called Geographic Region for Performance Metrics and then select your preferred regions.

Updates to the Listing Score algorithm

The latest update to the Listing Score algorithm (for the geographic region World) places a greater emphasis on establishing accurate listings on the sites with the highest business value.

  • Primary listings on sites like Google and Facebook will have a slightly greater impact on the Listing Score.
  • Citations will have a slightly reduced impact on the Listing Score. Similar to before, the score will continue to grow as your clients generate citations, but it will grow at a slower rate.

With this update to the Listing Score algorithm, most of your clients will see an increase in their scores (as much as 70 points) as well as their industry averages. Conversely, a few of your clients may witness a slight decline in their scores (no more than 30 points).
